SEASOUND

Finalist Collection for the National Swimwear Fashion Award 2020

Design proposal based on the nautical world, handmade elements reminiscent of fishing nets combined with a beach style.

As a reference, I have my grandfather, who was a Marine Infantryman in his day. This collection is made for people who love warm weather, beach days, and boat rides.

The goal is to achieve a modern style while preserving the nautical essence.

The name of the collection is  S E A S O U N D , as it encompasses everything for me and conveys so much with so little. The sound of the sea is undoubtedly one of the best sensations one can experience.

The National Swimwear Design Award for New Talents is the main focus of Mediterranean Fashion Beach (MFB). MFB is a national event that draws inspiration from sun and beach tourism and serves as a platform for the creative talent of the country’s best-trained designers. It represents a valuable initiative aimed at providing visibility and opportunities for fashion creation in Spain.

The novelty of the format stems from the originality of the productions, which have been set against various backdrops in the city of Benidorm, the official venue for the National Swimwear Award. Here, we have not only witnessed an explosion of contrasts between the colors and creativity of the designs proposed in each finalist collection but also, collectively, the images transform into a new way to promote tourism and fashion destinations.

To achieve this, the organization conducted two recording days in mid-August, on the 14th and 21st, in which the eight finalist designers participated: Ana Llopis, Sara Calle, Andrea Hermoso, Cristina Sempere, Maitena Vega, Mireia Moreno, Yaiza Martín, and Julia Hernampérez, along with a team of models, hairdressers, makeup artists, stylists, runway directors, photographers, videographers, and production staff.
